David “Dave” Garrett, CPA, CGMA, is a director with more than 30 years of public accounting experience. Prior to joining Blue, he owned his own firm for 17 years.

Dave focuses primarily on corporate structure, financing, taxation and operational issues including M&A transaction structuring, planning, and modeling. Dave’s areas of specialization include complex tax matters including planning for individuals and pass-through entities such as LLCs, partnerships and S Corporations, as well as state sales and use tax issues.

Dave is passionate about helping his clients formulate tax strategies that make business sense. He shares his expert insights freely and conducts informational presentations to area Chambers of Commerce and conferences regarding new tax laws and changes.

Dave graduated from Radford University in Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana CPA Society. He is a past treasurer for Herron High School and provides financial guidance to the Center for Victim and Human Rights.

On December 1, 2022, Dave merged his practice from Alerding CPA Group to Blue & Co.
