Our History
A heritage of success.
It was 1970, in Indianapolis, Indiana, and four visionary accountants recognized a gap in the market. They saw the need for an accounting firm that provided the same quality services as national firms, but with an emphasis on closely-held businesses and growth-oriented organizations.
With this in mind, they created a firm that could provide these stellar services, while also focusing on individual clients and helping them achieve their goals. Today we continue that tradition.

Milestones
1970
Founded in Indianapolis by four Indiana University graduates. After operating under different combinations of the foursome’s last names, they decided to use the name of the partner with the shortest name, Ron Blue.
1971
Seymour, IN office opened to serve local manufacturing, distribution and construction clients.
1972
Blue & Co. acquired an existing office in Rensselaer, IN.
1985
Columbus, IN office opened as a result of a merger with a locally-established firm.
1993
A satellite office opened in downtown Indianapolis, IN.
1995
Louisville, KY (East-HC) office opened to better serve area healthcare clients.
1999
Columbus, OH office opened and the Rensselaer, IN practice closed.
2010
Lexington and Louisville, KY (Downtown-Comm) opened as a result of merger with Kentucky-based firm.
2012
Bloomington, IN office opened as a result of a merger with a local firm.
2015
Cincinnati, OH office opened as a result of a merger with a local firm
2016
Evansville, IN office opened.
2017
Bloomington office expands via merger.
2019
Columbus, OH office expands via merger.
2022
January 2022: Louisville, KY office expands via merger.
2022
November 2022: Carmel, IN office expands via Indianapolis-based merger.
2022
December 2022: Carmel, IN office expands via Indianapolis-based merger.
