2022 Director Promotions at Blue & Co., LLC

CARMEL, Ind. (January 6, 2022) – – Blue & Co., LLC is proud to announce the 2022 director promotions of Gavin Fox, Maddie Gookins, Ryan Graham, Annmarie Novotney, and Stephen Stringer effective January 1, 2022.

Gavin Fox, CPA is a Director of audit and accounting in Blue’s Carmel, Indiana office. He specializes in providing advisory and assurance services to the construction industry and serves as the co-chair of Blue’s firm-wide Construction Practice.

Gavin has been with Blue for 12 years and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Indiana CPA Society. Gavin also serves on the Indiana Subcontractors Association’s Future Leaders Committee. Gavin is a graduate of Blue’s award-winning Building Leaders program and has been recognized with Blue’s David Windley award for outstanding client service.

Maddie Gookins is a Director on the Indianapolis Revenue Cycle team with Blue & Co., LLC. Maddie has been with Blue & Co., for 19 years during which she has been responsible for Patient Financial Services (PFS) reviews. She also assists clients with billing compliance studies, behavioral health documentation reviews, and various coding and PFS projects related to the revenue cycle. Maddie has helped several hospitals in implementing policies, procedures and process improvements related to billing, and charge capture. In addition, Maddie has been instrumental in providing education to clients regarding Medicare regulations.

Maddie is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American Academy of Professional Coders. She is also an active participant on the Revenue and Billing Committee for Community Mental Health Centers (CMHC) and Council on Behavioral Health for the Indiana Hospital Association

Ryan Graham, CPA is a Director in the audit department at the Lexington, Kentucky office with more than 12 years of experience. Ryan regularly serves manufacturing and employee benefit plan clients.

Ryan graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Prior to joining Blue & Co., LLC, Ryan worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP for three and half years.

He is also involved in a number of civic organizations. He is currently serving as the treasurer for Ronald McDonald House of the Bluegrass, is on the on the board of the Blue & Co. Foundation, and the Lexington Dream Factory. Ryan is also a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Kentucky Society of CPAs.

Annmarie Novotney, CPA is an audit and accounting Director in the Blue & Co. Carmel, Indiana office. She began her career at Blue as an intern in 2008 and has been with the firm ever since. Annmarie specializes in providing assurance and consulting services to not-for-profit organizations.

Annmarie earned her MBA and BS degrees from Indiana University in Bloomington. She is a member of the Indiana CPA Society and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is also active in the not-for-profit community, serving as a member of the Board for Dove Recovery House for Women, serving on the Finance Committee of the Blue Foundation, and the Finance Committee of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis.

Annmarie is active in publishing content for Blue & Co.’s not-for-profit industry webpage and speaks at several internal and external seminars annually. She is also a member of Blue’s firm wide Not-for-Profit Services Group.

Stephen “Steve” Stringer, CPA has more than 14 years of experience in public accounting. Steve focuses his time in tax planning and compliance for closely held businesses in a variety of industries. His primary responsibilities are managing the entire Blue client service team to ensure client needs are met. He works directly with clients and Blue staff to ensure compliance and planning engagements proceed smoothly.

Steve graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Steve also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration from Eastern Illinois University and a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from Saint Louis University. Prior to joining Blue, Steve has spent time in his career working in the healthcare industry, as a Chief Financial Officer for a closely held corporation, and as a senior manager in a leading specialty tax consulting firm. Steve’s wide variety of experience give him unique insight that he shares with Blue clients.

Steve is a member of the Indiana Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Society and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
